Next we went to the posthu food hall and bar where I had an incredible lamb burger and other treats inspired by Indian spices. But looked like there were many good choices Next was the food cellar which had delicious food. And a place definitely to go back to. The tour de force was the private Kjarval club with great views and art. What I especially loved about the tour—getting a sense of the places, people, art and history from a delightfully interesting guide. We ate incredible food, sampled amazing wine / beer, saw stunning street art, listened to music together (fans of Sigur Rós and Jónsi will love it), visited some very cool places and learnt so much more about Iceland.
The passion and warmth that Ýmir has radiates from him and it felt like we were catching up with an old friend rather than meeting someone for the first time.
My children (11 and 9) loved every minute of it and haven’t stop talking about it, saying it was their favourite day - considering we’ve seen all the attractions of the Golden Circle and been to the Blue Lagoon, pretty impressive feedback!

Nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to make the trips special. We heard Reykjavik's food scene had developed significantly in the past 5+ years with named chefs, world influences expanding and a wide diversity of cuisines now having an impact on the offerings. We were whisked away for four hours to locations ranging from fine dining to a take out window serving one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Sharing only brief details via email before our trip, Ymir took what little he knew about us and selected locations as if he had know us for years. A craft beer bar for my love of suds, an upscale spot serving local cheese along with excellent wine for my wife's distinguished palate and he even one of Reykjavik's hidden independent art secrets that, while out in the open, we would have certainly never known about. We can't express enough that the spots chosen specifically for us, the food we dined on and the whole 4 hour experience was absolutely a luxury quality, immersive and amazing activities we've done in our travels.

The positive energy, genuine enthusiasm, and love of life / food / drink along with the ability to masterfully curate a personalized, vacation enhancing and entertaining few hours are only the start to describe Ymir.

What's more is the knowledge of Reykjavik, recommendations on the remainder of our vacation and guidance on amazing tours, food and activities throughout the entire country, as we had a multi-day road trip planned, were so above and beyond what we expected. Everything we did and ate on the tour was first class and Ýmir makes sure all creature comforts are catered to.
